Our password holder has deceased, how can we change the email?
Our church uses a shared dropbox folder for storing and sharing documents. Previously, the board president was the owner but passed away without sharing her password with the next president. No one h...

Thanks for the info. In this case, the only way to access that account would be via this process.
If this isn't possible, the only remaining option would be to copy the files from the shared folder into another folder on your account, and then share that folder with the same members as before.

Hey sarah copland, thanks for reaching out to us.
I'm really sorry for your loss..
Would you mind giving me the ticket number for your communication with our team, so I can investigate further?

Hi Hannah,
Thank you and thanks for coming back to me
Sure, I seem to have 2 ticket numbers, I will pass them both on
Hoping one of those is the right one. Apologies, I raised this quite some time ago and have lost track as to where I got to with it.
Many thanks in advance

Hi there Hannah
I received this reply from Carl...does this mean there is absolutely nothing we can do to access my Dad dropbox account? I am still unclear what I can do next?
Many thanks

Ticket #23608076: Re: Dropbox Community Support - Follow Up Bernard Copland Drop Box Account
Hello,
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately we are unable to grant access to the account as requested without the court order and Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, or other record evidencing their consent to disclosure of the content of electronic communications as legally required. Again, we are sorry for your loss and we wish you the best during this difficult time.
Regards,
Dropbox Legal Team

Hi sezza28, from the wording in that email from the legal team, unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be possible to regain access to the Dropbox account.
Since they would be the team to process this change, without those documents, it wouldn't be possible to change this decision.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful on this matter.

Hi Jay
Thanks for coming back to me. I can't give up yet 🙂 Could you or the legal team advise as to how I might be able to get hold of these documents please?Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sarah

You'd need to speak with your lawyer or attorney to see if it is possible to obtain these documents. Once you receive them, you can contact the team again for assistance.
