I've sent a request to support@dropbox.zendesk.com requesting the account be closed and all data deleted, but it is a multi-step process requiring access to the account. We haven't been able to regain Dropbox account control and need the account closed immediately.
Dropbox doesnt have inbound email support.
They need to log a ticket via www.dropbox.com/support. If its from a free account replies take a few days and you need to go to that link while not logged in - so try using an incognito window. Note the person impacted will need to do this from their email as they wont take support requests from other people.
However, if you now have regained access to the email account why not just reset the password on the account yourself and do it? www.dropbox.com/forgot.
