Compromised Dropbox account with MFA enabled by hacker

Similar to another post, a client email was hacked and used their email/dropbox account to send a PDF file a large amount of contacts. Their dropbox account was also upgraded to a professional version by the hacker the same day the shared PDF file was sent out to contacts. Client did not see the sign-in alerts because their email was compromised hiding the alert emails. 

 

I have tried to email abuse@dropbox.com advising them on the shared PDF email since I have received it too. Dropbox has not addressed the issue for almost a week now the link still works. 

 

Client has already talked to support directly but they are not showing response via email and instead requiring client to login to their dropbox but they can't because they were not the one that enabled MFA.

    Thanks for posting about this here, Cool7, and for the ticket numbers you’ve provided.

     

    I was able to locate them in our system and I’ve also left an internal note for our team to see and reply as soon as possible. This way, they can also see your post here on our Community. 

     

    Given the nature of the issue, I’d suggest continuing with them directly and they’ll further help.
