Can't access email associated with my account
The email associated with one of my accounts was disabled. So when I try to sign in to the account and Dropbox sends a 6-digit code to that email address, I can't get it. Therefore, I can't get into ...

Hi AnnePalmer1 & gretD, let's jump right into this!
Have you tried to contact Dropbox Support directly for this?
You can visit the Support page while you're not signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.
Once you do, feel free to send me the ticket number reference, in order for me to locate it on my end.

My account sign-in uses an obsolete email address and I don't remember the password. To reset the password, Dropbox sends a message to the obsolete email which I can't retrieve. In order to change the email, I have to sign in. In order to sign in, I need the password reset which gets sent to the obsolete email. It's a vicious cycle. At this point, I just want to cancel the subscription but to do so, one has to sign in and here we go again.

Hi LS91011, how are you today?
I'm afraid that without access to the email address that's associated with the account in question, we won't be able to help much in regards to accessing the account.
However, what we can do here is I can send you an email, in order for us to see what we can do about the cancellation of the account's plan. Can I do this?
Keep me posted!

Yes, you can send an email, but not to the old address.

Hi Megan,
I am having the same issue as the user above. My college, Villanova, gave all students "Villanova Gmail For Life" - therefore, I've been using my [removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines] email as my personal email post-college, and as my account login username / email associated with the account. However, Villanova reneged on the email for life, and on November 15, 2022, officially expired and deleted all Villanova.edu emails - including mine. Thus, I can't access my Dropbox account to cancel my subscription (I have an existing subscription under my new personal email address here, but the Villanova.edu Droppbox account is still active - so I'd like to cancel the duplicative 2nd account.
Can you email me so we can get this done? Thanks!
- Queensarah1012 years agoNew member | Level 2Hi the email address that was used to create dropbox is no longer active or available and I can't access my dropbox to change the email address or passwords my husband still has access to our dropbox and uses it regularly.

Hi Queensarah101, let's jump right into this!
You mentioned that your husband can still access Dropbox. Are you referring to one account, that you both share, or two individual ones?
I am afraid that without access to the email address, it'd be tough to gain access to the account itself. Do you have any old, connected devices that would help you see the files in the account?
If I were you, I'd try to contact the email service provider and see if they can reactivate the address -even temporarily- so you can access the account.
I hope this helps!
- Nadeem Ansari2 years agoNew member | Level 2I am also facing issues with my account I can't able to login my account

Hi Nadeem ansari, I hope you're doing well!
Can you clarify if you're facing the same issue as the OP? Do you have access to the email address, linked to your Dropbox account?
If not, then is there any chance your email provider, could temporarily re-create the email, in order for you to gain access to the 6-digit security code?

I know the password and email account associated with my Dropbox account. I no longer have access to the email account, the ESP is not able to help, and I need the files in my DB. I am in a loop from hell of the verification email being sent to the email I can't access. How do I retrieve my files? And if they are gone forever, I want my subscription fee back.

Hi - I also have the same issue and need assistance as I was charged another annual fee.
The email linked to the account is closed as it was a work email I no longer have access to - I cannot dropbox to closed the account as I cannot access due to needing the 6 figure code. How can I provide my details for you to reach out an help?
