Cannot change my email address via Settings

When I want to change my email adress, I need to verify it first. I receive a pop-up, enter my new email and current one with password. Note => email adresses are not the same. When I change my...

    Is it possible that the new email address you're using when trying to update your old one with, has a Dropbox account linked to it?
