What happens when I cancel my Dropbox subscription or trial?

Especially, what will happen to all my files in Dropbox if I decide to cancel my paid plan? Will they be deleted? Thanks!

  • Hi there fermorales8, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!

When you cancel your Dropbox subscription, your files won't be deleted, but if you exceed your account's new quota limit (2 GB for Basic accounts+ any space you had earned through referrals, promotions etc.), your account will stop syncing to your devices.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

My trial ended a week ago, but I don't see any files at all associated with my account. Nor any of the backup files that were syncing.

I'd gladly pay for an account, but first would like to ensure that my files are somehow available.

Is there any way I can confirm they still exist, so I can retrieve them?

      Thank you.

Hey Positronic, sorry to hear about your missing files.

If you made sure that you're looking at the right account, could you have a look at your events page and let us know if you can find any signs of your files there?
