Unauthorised billing
Hello, my bank has just informed me that Dropbox has billing my account £95 every year since 2018. I signed up to a free Dropbox account in 2018 but I have never used Dropbox and I have never agreed to paying for a subscription. I would like a refund for all of the money that Drobox has taken from my account since 2018. I have never received an email, letter or any correspondence to inform me that I have signed up to an account or that I would be billed for an account. I would appreicate some advice on how to get a refund, as it seems impossible to get a reply from Dropbox. Thank you

Hey MattG2, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
Please allow me to mention that Dropbox cannot bill you, unless you provide your billing info, by upgrading your account or joining a trial.
Also, customers on a yearly plan receive an email informing them of their upcoming renewal, a month before the actual renewal date.
However, to investigate this further, I would suggest opening a private browsing/incognito window on your browser and going to this page.
From there, you can submit a help request to our support team for further assistance.
I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions.

Dear Hannah, thank you so much for your useful advice. I have no idea about Dropbox operates so this is good to know. I'v also learned that I'v never been sent an invoice or receipt over the last 5 years, so I shall definitely follow your advice. Thanks once again

I also just found that I’m being charged for Dropbox basic 19.99/mo and have emailed them to cancel with no ability to speak to a human. It is such a scam

Basic accounts are free. If your Plan page shows that you're on Basic but you're still being charged, then you're being charged for a different account. Use the credit card charge lookup tool to identify the account that you're being charged for.
