Hello Walter!
This is going to be a common problem for almost all Indian customers. My billing renewal date is in February 2022, but I would still like to know in advance if I need to take any steps in advance from my end, for my transaction to go through successfully, and I'm sure all the other Indian customers would want an update on the same.
Thanks in advance.
- Muthuindia4 years agoNew member | Level 2Hi, I am facing the same issue but my renewal is already past due. I am informed by my bankers that due to recently introduced Central Bank regulations, banks in India can process auto-debits only if the merchant is register with RBI (the central bank) for auto-debits. I am informed that Dropbox is not registered and hence when I try to make payments, the bank is unable to process it.
I am also informed that single payments are allowed to unregistered merchants. But Dropbox has no facility to accept one-time payments. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Like *everyone else* in India I'm facing the same problem. I've tried all my cards and none of them have worked. My renewal date has passed so I'm a little anxious about my data. I'd like to have a way to pay and get on with life. Thanks.

Hey smi8, thanks for posting about this here!
Can you let me know what type of error message you get if you try to re-upgrade your Dropbox account?
Does the issue persist via different browsers, as well?
- tewariv3 years agoExplorer | Level 4Guys is this solved ? I am trying to buy extra 1 tb storage in my Plus plan...all to no avail. Keeps asking me to upgrade payment method. Any solution ? Managed to renew...BY CHANCE ..the transaction just got through. However the upgrade seems to be a different story. Tried with 2 different cards. No luck.
