Hi gailb
Your data is safe 🙂
You need to wait for the upgrade to fail as well as the few retries that it will do - you get a few days grace before you are downgraded. Then once you are downgraded and you notice syncing stops as your account is now over quota you simply re-upgrade to the correct plan and using new card etc.

Hello dear community,
I have some questions before doing a billing currency change:
1. If I like to change the currency for yearly billing from USD, it means that Downgrading the account and Resubscribing it might cost a bigger yearly payment than it was before the change?
2. If someone knows, what is the list of currencies that are eligible by Dropbox except USD of course?
3. To be more specific, an Israeli Shekel is a possibility?
Thanks,
Gary

If you downgrade and resubscribe, you'll be charged whatever the current price is for the plan you choose. If you're paying less than the currently advertised price and you downgrade and resubscribe, you will see a price increase.
What I understand from previous posts on the forums is that you don't get to choose the currency you're charged for. Your currency is based on your billing address. There isn't an option to just pick whatever currently you want.

Thank you Rich,
That was helpful info.
It seems that nothing should be done by me.
Dropbox decides (itself) in which currency to charge with, based on the country you stay or live in (and of course with the currency you made the Dropbox deal offer when you first subscribed). If you change the country and updating a new billing address you will get the relevant billing currency Dropbox decides.
Is that correct?
