unable to create a new word 365 doc in dropbox app on android s21 cell

Hi, as of 2 days ago, I'm unable to create a new microsoft word 365 doc in dropbox app on android s21 cell. I had this same issue last december, contact microsoft 365 and they asked me to use their one drive cloud server instead, which I declined. The issue resolved itself after about 1-2 months.

Now that all I can do is create a text doc, how do I get microsoft 365 to integrate again with my dropbox app?  Or better yet is there an alternative to microsoft 365 that doesn't have persistent recurring glitches?

Hi adlbrk, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

What exactly happens when you create a new Microsoft document via the Dropbox mobile app?

What version of the OS, Dropbox and Word apps are you running on your device?

This will help me to assist further!

I don't see on my phone what version of db I have but it's updated as of feb 27th 2024 and there's no other updates available.

here's a screen shot of what I see (you'll notice that only "text file" is displayed)  https://prnt.sc/_HtpE1CO0Jcq

Hey adlbrk, sorry for the delay here!

Can you try  workaround and let us know if it helps?

You should be able to use the Office app to create a new file and then save it to Dropbox, as you can enable Dropbox as a location to save to.

From there, you should be able to open the file within Dropbox.
