Mixup with existing and "new" accounts on Mac desktop app
Setting up a new Mac, I accidentally logged into Dropbox using an old user email and password. I thought I was signing in but signed up for a new account. I had chosen to relocate the Dropbox folder ...

Hey WatsonA, let's have a look at this!
When you currently launch the app, are you logged in to the newly-created Dropbox account, or your old one?
If you sign into the account online, is everything there?
You also mentioned that you chose to relocate your Dropbox folder when you logged into this new account. Would you mind telling me the steps that you followed on your end?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

1. I log in to the old account; I deleted the new one I created in error.
2. yes; mostly. I had some issues with Dropbox on the old computer I am moving from. Problem there was that the User account I had been using became corrupted to the point that the Genius Bar could not fix it and told me to create a new User account, and when I did that, I had some problmes getting Dropbox set up right. But I think I did, and all but a few files now show if I log in using Safari.
3. I don't recall the exact ssteps I used to relocate the Dropbox folder. A dialog asked if I wanted to, and I realized I was in a new account, so I did. It said if I chose the same folder from the "other" account it would delete all the files.
However, after I deleted the new account, when I log into the app to the original account, it switches me to the new, empty folder. I can't figure out how to tell the app that I want to use the original, old folder.
If I can do that somehow, it may not solve every issue I'm having but it will make Dropbox usable. Then, I can address any remaining issues, if any.

Hope it’s OK to jump in, @WatsonA.
If you look at the new Mac’s menu bar now, do you see a small Dropbox icon? If yes, I’d like you to click there, go to your initials/profile picture > Preferences, and select the Sync tab. Can you send me a screenshot of what you see there?
After that, please click on the Account tab and let me know if you see the email address of your existing Dropbox account, or the new one that was accidentally created.
Thanks!

Documents is where I selected to store the new Dropbox folder for the account I have since deleted. It's where I get directed when I launch the app. The email address I see under Account is REMOVED which is the address for the accidentally created account.
I'm guessing I can sign out of that account on the Account tab, and sign in with the proper email address?...Just did so, and that fixed the problem. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
