Logging out from the app remotely.

we use dropbox on our PC desktop but primarily use it on our our phones and iPads. We were traveling in Europe and it occurred to us that there’s no automatic logout feature for dropbox that we could find, if we were currently logged in to our iOS device and it were stolen from us, someone could immediately get into the Dropbox app. it seems to me that’s serious security feature. I emailed support and they said they do not have a feature now so I wondered if the group had to work around. We use a password protection software on the devices it times out after the time range that you set. Any help is appreciated

  • Hi there, Joycegtx1951, I hope you're doing well!

If you visit your Security page online, you should be able to log out of your device remotely using the steps in this Help Center article.

It's not exactly an auto-log out feature, but it would work if your device got stolen for instance.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!

thank you for your response that’s what customer support said. I do think it’s a big flaw in the software. When your device is stolen, you’re in a panic mode, especially overseas, and you’re certainly not thinking about all the apps that you are logged into. I tried to send feedback and I’m not sure I did it correctly.

Require a passcode when you launch the app and that wouldn't be an issue. It's an option in Settings within the app.
