Linked accounts when using the desktop app. Is it possible?

I am a consultant working with multiple businesses. I recently added a new customer, and they added me to their Dropbox. When I set it up, Dropbox linked my previous account onto my new account, meaning I can see the previous account's files when I log into the new account, but I cannot see the new account's files from the previous account's login. But what I need is to add the new account onto the previous login so I can access both accounts from my desktop app. Please help!

Hey Korrin - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Just to make sure I got this right, you installed the Dropbox desktop app on a new computer and linked both of your accounts so that you can access them through the app and not seeing the files you'd expect?

If you log into the accounts via the website, do things look normal?

Screenshots of what's troubling you would also help!

No, not a new computer. I use the same laptop for both clients. Let me try again.

I already have joined a previous Dropbox account with another client (company).

I now have a different client (company) who added me to their Dropbox account.

I can login online to both accounts and see everything on the website, but my desktop app is logged into the previous account.

When I joined the new account, it linked some of (but not all) the previous files to the new account, and I can see the previous files when I log into the new account on the website.

But I can't see the new files when I log into the previous account on the website or on my desktop app.

I need this to be switched. I need to see the new files on the desktop app without having to go to the website.

This is only possible if one of the accounts is a paid for Business account. You need to link them via the article already linked (see here).

However, this ONLY works if one is a paid business one - if both are business OR paid accounts but not a business one it doesn't work. By that I mean if you are a part of 2 paid for Business plans you cannot link and if you have 2 Essentials or Plus plans you cannot do it.

I know the new one is Basic and I don't think the other is a business plan. I clicked the unlink button on my account settings, but I can still see the previous files on the new account. How do I get them off?

Are you referring to your Dropbox folder on your computer's hard drive or the website Korrin
