Account Access
1672 TopicsI'm using DuckDuckGo to access Dropbox, but it defaults to a new account.
Odd situation here. Bought a new computer, Windows 11, and have had trouble getting Dropbox operating properly. Since the computer was new, it wiped out the old register and settings. I have three devices I transfer Dropbox information among: an iPad, a laptop, and--most importantly-- my new desktop Win 11 computer. Everything is fine on my iPad and laptop. I was able to get my new desktop to find my account (long used a free one with 6.25GB --being 87 years old that's all I need) by installing and using the Firefox browser. However, whenever I use DuckDuckGo (or use LastPass, which is the default browser that LastPass uses) to try and access Dropbox I am set up with "new" account of 2GB. What??? My current account will share 3 devices and previous desktop was one of the three. Can't seem to fix this. By the way I am Dropbox client 2124.4.5767 Any help, please? I have had a Dropbox account for years, and I recently downloaded the Dropbox app on my iphone 15, which I got to replace a previous iphone that I damaged beyond the ability to use. I am logged into Dropbox on my Mac and in my browser. When I went to log into the Dropbox app on my new phone, I was presented with an interface to create a new account, but not to log in. I went ahead and entered my email and password for my existing account in that interface, thinking it would provide me with a login interface once it recognized that an account with those credentials already exists. But it doesn't. So I can't find any way to use this app. What is the solution?917Views1like8Comments6-digit code not sent - want to find out if account still exists

Decades ago I opened an account at work, most times I save as any doc. it will still go there. BUT I cannot log into that account, as it does not show up as an option when I click on Log In, nor can I type in manually, as DB sends me to a Sign Up for a new account page. I have a second account, which is the only one DB will show when I go to Log In. But what I save is going to the first account! Frustrating. I need a work around.10Views0likes1CommentLost my account and files
I was trying to log in yesterday through mobile app but I was directed to sign up. I tried reseting my password instead. After successfully resetting my password, it turned out to be a new account with welcome message and product tour. All my information details, profile photo are gone and plans was back into 2gb storage and all my stored files was gone. Empty account! I didn't receive any email notification from Dropbox prior this incident.37Views0likes4CommentsAn employee's email was used to create a malicious Dropbox account
I'm hoping someone here will be able to provide further assistance on this issue. One of our employee's mailboxes got compromised. While compromised, the bad actor setup a Dropbox account that is now sending out malicious emails. The account is secured with MFA, which we do not control or have backup codes for. So, recovering via MFA is not an option. We have attempted to contact Dropbox support but haven't been able to get anyone to assist with deleting the account. We have just been advised to login and delete ourselves, which is not an option. If someone is able to assist on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Nick26Views0likes6Comments
