Hi, I see you tried every possible solution mentioned in the article.
But did you try turning notifications off and then on again? This can sometimes reset any stuck notifications.
You can do that through the iPhone general settings. Find Dropbox, tap on it, and then select Notifications.
Also, in the Dropbox application, look for any notifications or alerts and review them. Clear any persistent notifications related to the deleted file.

Hi maher1982, thank you for the suggestions, but they did not solve the issue. Turning notifications off and on on the iPhone for the app didn't work, and there were no notifications/alerts in the Dropbox app related to the file in question or any other alerts.
Separately, I have cleared the cache but that also didn't help. The same goes for the hard reset for the app. It seems to be an issue on the Dropbox side.
The app version is 380.3.2. The plan is Dropbox basic with 3 devices connected (1 PC + 2 iPhones). The issue occurs on both iPhones.
