Dropbox creating many instances, uninstaller file is corrupted

Hi,

My Dropbox this morning has opened many instances, all using CPU and network, eventually consuming my entire upload bandwidth. (Each instance was using 0.1mbps)

My uninstall file was also corrupted so I was not able to remove Dropbox from my computer.

Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this?

Hi FM123456, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We've not received any reports similar to this behavior. Could you clarify the exact OS version you're running on your machine?

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try the advanced reinstallation steps to see if they help?

    Keep me posted!

Do you have for than three devices on your account? Have you been able to reboot and attempt the advanced reinstallation steps?

      Ha.. 😀 Really! 🤫

Yes, such things are rare, but it's definitely not the first time! Such complains get cleared regularly from the forum here as so regularly as they are reported... 🤷

It's old known bug. Something that development doesn't care about and tries hide it. 🤦

PS: By the way, it affects all supported platforms, not only Windows.
