Why are recipients of file requests prompted to sign in?

I recently created a "File Request"  folder to allow trading partners to send us documents in lieu of faxing.

However when users click  a link they appear to be prompted to login with a username & PW

I thought I recalled "outsiders" being able to send files without requiring a Dropbox account? Is there a way to upload a file without "logging in"?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, DGK.

Indeed, recipients of file requests don't need to have a Dropbox account, to send you files.

Can you please describe the steps you followed, to create the file request?

And can you ask the recipients to check if there's a skip button on the prompt?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

      Thanks for offering to help

      I clicked File Requests here

Clicked the big blue New Request button, and added a Title

      and clicked create

here is the shortcut it created

      [link removed]

then I had just switched to a different browser to test, that's when I saw the message in the above post.

I really didn't want or need the senders to login, and I panicked and posted here...

BUT now when I paste the link it seems to work without a login

      So maybe a false alarm?

I just tested your link and it worked fine (you should have received a Test.txt file with the word Test inside it). I've also edited your post to remove the link so no one else can use it.
