Was added to a shared folder but can't upload files because I have a Basic account
I was added to a shared folder to upload footage to, so I created an account to gain access, but when uploading it says that I am on a basic plan and capped at 2GB.
My client has upgraded the plan, but mine says I am still on basic, do I have to upgrade my own plan to upload to his folder?

Hey MelJackson, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
Since shared folders take up space in each member's account, if you want to have edit access to the folder to upload and edit files, you'd need enough space in your account as well.
I'd suggest they send you a file request in this case, so that you can upload files to their account without affecting your own quota.
I hope this helps, but if you have more questions let us know!

Thanks Hannah, they created a team folder and added me to the team so seems to be solved for now :)

Be very careful when it comes time to leave the team. If they just remove you from the team, your account will be deleted, potentially with your files. When you're ready to leave, tell the team admin that they need to convert your account back to an individual account.
