Stop android whatsapp photos auto uploading
How do I stop my android phone automatically uploading all my whatsapp photos and only upload the photos I take?
- Hey there (Bex1), thanks for taking a bit of time to post your question on the Dropbox Community; I hope my message finds you well today! Please bear in mind that that this has been previously discussed here, where I’ve attempted to explain the rationale of the Camera Uploads functionality. Let me briefly re-iterate that Camera Uploads will "look" for new content in your device’s DCIM folder, that's updated according to a pre-set set of specifications your mobile manufacturer has established.Depending on the device you’re using, there might be a viable workaround to either store the downloaded photos on a different location on your phone or otherwise prevent them from automatically updating in your default Gallery. From there, you could also upload your files to Dropbox manually (using the + Button), where you’ll be given a choice to select only the ones you’d like to sync online.Hopefully my tips & advice are-even slightly- helpful to you & please do keep me updated on this discussion if you have any follow-up questions about any of the above. Thanks again for reaching out to us on our Forum & take care until we talk again!

No offense, but you didn't really resolve the issue in the other linked thread, and you haven't really resolved this one. You have simply repeated the issue back to us.
This is not resolved.

This simply isn't a Dropbox problem. The Camera Uploads feature is meant to upload any new photos or videos it finds in the DCIM folder (Camera Roll on iPhone, Gallery on Android, etc.). Dropbox can't distinguish between the different apps that may be dropping images into that location. It simply sees an image and uploads it, as it's supposed to.
If you want to prevent that from happening, disable the option within WhatsApp to automatically save files to your phone. Or, disable the Camera Uploads feature in Dropbox and upload your photos and videos manually within the Dropbox app.
