Sharing a parent-level folder with a user who has access to a child-level folder

Our company uses Dropbox for Business.
We have one parent folder for "Company Accounts".
Within this, there are sub-folders from "A" to "Z".

As long as your team's admin allows external sharing or top level editing (this depends on the user you're sharing the folder with, i.e. a member of the team or an external one) I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work Celeste.
Why don't you give it a go?

Yes, we are sharing with a team member, not externally.
Thanks for the advice. Another team member of mine has done the sharing successfully, so it has definitely worked.
