1633 TopicsI'd like a feature that allows me to secure a folder of files with a password for extra protection.
It would be a great idea to implement an extra layer of protection to be able to hide certain files or be able to lock them with a set password within the app since I experience multiple users on multiple machines of mine being able to access most of the files. Therefor I would really benefit from a folder I can lock with my personal password and therefor hide sensitive information or files that should not be accessed by other users but me. I would suggest calling it something like Vault or Hidden Files. I have a dropbox plus account that is connected to an old email address to which I can no longer access. I have the password, but after I log in I am asked for the 6 digit code sent to the e-mail address that I cannot access. The 8 digit codes I received when I signed up do not work. Recently, I could not access my account as I didn't have access to my previous mobile and laptops, and I could not receive messages on my mobile number. I want to mention that the team has made a great effort to resolve the issue, and they even sent me a direct code on my mobile number and asked me to provide the code through email. However, due to my mobile number problem, I could not receive messages from foreign countries. Therefore, I request that you end the call sent through WhatsApp (which was on the same number) or call me on the number, or I will call them on the same number. However, they could not do so due to Dropbox's policy. So, I suggest that Dropbox include other verification methods, as Gmail and other service providers use the same approach. This will make it easier. Finally, I will give the team 5 stars for their efforts and response to the issue, which keeps my hope of getting my data high as they try various other ways to resolve the issue. I noticed on my CC that I’m being charged by Dropbox again. I have only had a free account, so I was puzzled. Investigation resulted in finding someone fraudulently is using my info on an acct. And charging my CC. Obv I want that stopped. How do I report it, and stop further charges? There’s little I can do bcz I only have a basic acct and can’t call customer service. It would be great if it were possible to set a user so they cannot perform bulk deletions or moves of files. One of the users, who does not have admin rights, accidentally moved a folder with 350,000 files. As a result, we lost the functionality of the links when returning the folder back. When an admin uses the "log in as user"/"sign in as user" feature in the web admin interface, a confirmation prompt appears warning the admin that all other admins will get notified by email. It would be nice if this confirmation prompt included a text entry box where the admin could describe the reason for signing in as a member, and if this reason was included in the email sent to other admins and in the audit logs. Use case: Our admins are regularly accessing the Dropbox account of a recently departed senior employee to look for certain files.
