Shared link permissions settings not working
Hi, I need your help - I have created a shared folder and added all the restrictions possible for a can view option including password protected, only people invited can view, and download disabled.
In short, none of this works, as soon as I share the file with anyone (on the can view option of course) they can view (password wasn't asked), download, share via the create a share link and even edit the files!
I spoke with the support and they said that they would escalate but that was two days ago and I really need to send these files ASAP.
appreciate your help.

You've referred to a shared folder but the options to protect with a password or disable downloads don't apply to a shared folder. They only apply to a shared link, which is a different method of sharing.
If you create a shared folder and invite someone to it, you're specifically inviting them to have either can view or can edit access to the folder. They'll be able to view, download and even make their own copies of the files. Those with can edit access would also be able to edit and delete the files.
Are you explicitly inviting someone to the folder, or are you sending them a shared link?

I don’t understand even if I shared the folder. I chose options on view option and added restrictions like password and disabled downloads. I don’t understand why this isn’t applied.- JayDropbox Staff
Hi orgo5555, as Rich stated, it's possible you created a shared folder, which can be added to a user's Dropbox account when you invite their email.
A shared link to a folder, however, allows you to set those permissions.
