Share Folders

I'm on a free account. I just uploaded some files to a new folder. I have nothing else in my dropbox except for the 4 files i just added.  Now I'm trying to share that folder with one other person but get a message stating that "You've hit the limit of the number of invites you can send per day. Try again in 24hrs. " I tried again in 24hrs and get the same message. I've never invited anyone to anything in dropbox. This is the first time I've attempted to share a folder. So how could I have used up my limit of invites? It also tells me that I don't have permission to create a link. It's my account. How could I not have permission?

  • Hey gimmeabreak, don't worry at all, this is why I am here!

I just sent you an email in order for us to have some account-specific info.

Reply back to the email, and we'll take it from there.

    Thank you very much!

For being account specific this sure seems to happen a lot based on my searching. Can someone email me to help me with this as well because it's been happening to me for months.

They finally fixed my issue. They had my account blocked for some reason and I had to message them on their facebook page to open a ticket.

I have a dumb question. I have a free Dropbox account. I love using it. I am sharing a folder with different people. Can a person see who else I am sharing the folder with? Is there a limit to how many people I can share with?

Hey gidmo, thanks for your comment here.

When it comes to inviting people to a folder to give them edit access, there's no specific limit to how many you can invite.

But would you mind clarifying how you're sharing this folder?

Did you invite these people using their email addresses (edit access)? Or are you sharing the folder through a link (view access)?

I'm having the same issue and it's been happening for years. I can't share anything. I could not find a way to open a ticket anywhere on the web portal, to get someone to unblock it for me. It should be automatically clearing itself up, even if after a long time maybe a month, but it's just blocked indefinitely. Please help.

Hi dag909, thanks for posting here today!

I'd need some account specific info on my end, in order to assist with that. Can I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?

        Let me know more!
