I have a dumb question. I have a free Dropbox account. I love using it. I am sharing a folder with different people. Can a person see who else I am sharing the folder with? Is there a limit to how many people I can share with?

Hey gidmo, thanks for your comment here.
When it comes to inviting people to a folder to give them edit access, there's no specific limit to how many you can invite.
But would you mind clarifying how you're sharing this folder?
Did you invite these people using their email addresses (edit access)? Or are you sharing the folder through a link (view access)?

Hi Hannah,
I am using the Dropbox app installed on my Macbook. I right click the folder to share and then add email of the recipient and setup for viewing only. Not editing permission. Basically I am trying to share my house remodel plans with some contractors. The file size is bigger than what can be attached to an email.

- Walter3 years agoDropbox StaffHey gidmo - sorry to jump in here.
If you share a folder with an email address directly from your computer, you're practically granting your collaborators with edit rights to the folder, assuming they have a Dropbox account too. In that case, everyone who's a member of the folder can see the other members and their email addresses.
In case you'd like to give them view only rights, you can share a link to the folder instead.
Hope this helps!- gidmo3 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Got it, Walter. Although the app has this option in settings which I had set to off. Anyway, I will use the link instead. Thanks
