People with password sharing option disappeared?
I have been using Dropbox Plus for years and I no longer have the option to share folders with passwords. I do not know if something is wrong with my program right now, or if this is yet another new ...

If you already shared this file with the user via email, or if they already joined the folder, then they already have access and do not need to enter password. This is slightly different than how the previous link password worked, but it does protect your content the same way since anyone who does not already have access will still need to enter the password.

Lisa - no, this was the first time I sent that person a link for that folder. I just set it up (for my taxes, so you can see why it needed password protection) within the last couple of days and set up the link and password for that folder for the first time yesterday - except the password part did not work. I tried using the "require password" option with this particular link, but she told me this morning that she was able to open the folder without a password. Now I have to terminate the link and make sure she has downloaded everything already.

Lisa, please. I know how this works. I tried to set up the folder with a password. It wouldn't give me the "only persons with the password can access this link" option for that folder so I tried the allegedly new "Require password" option. I sent the recipient the file link and the password. Once she clicked on the link, it took her straight to the folder – it did NOT require the password as indicated. This was a new folder and I had never created any links to it before. Furthermore, this is NOT the way I have done it in the past. I have always used the "only persons with the password can access this link "option. I showed a screenshot of that option above in my comments, which clearly establishes that I have had that option. I 100% wanted the link to this folder to be protected by a password, but that option was not available for some reason. Do you even actually read my comments and my explanation of what's happening? I just really want this fixed. There is no excuse for this. A feature that I have had access to for 13 years should not suddenly be removed or stop working. I'm hoping it's just a glitch of some kind and that it can be fixed. Apparently it was fixed for the original poster back in September, and she also had Dropbox Plus. Can someone please just fix this problem?

SCHouston it sounds like this may be a bug or it could be that there is something else causing this behavior. Unfortunately these forums are not a good channel for determining the root cause of your specific issue.
I recommend causing contacting customer support so they can work with you live to determine the cause of your issue.
If it is indeed a bug, they will be able to route this to our internal teams in addition to determining if it is specific to your account or something more widespread. However, this is not the result of any changes made to Dropbox or your plan.

To verify that the "Require password" option is working, you can open the link in an incognito browser window yourself.

Lisa, that is not true. When I test the link in an incognito browser, I'm forced to create a new or login to an existing account. This is not the same as entering a password to access the folder! Please fix ASAP!
