I have problems with the quality of scanned documents
Hello, I have problems with the quality of scanned documents. How to set the resolution when scanning? The size of the saved scans is only 100kB, it is not visible

Hi, thanks for your answer, but... I can´t see any options. There are no options, no settings for setting the quality of scan. it looks like dropbox reduces the pdf quality automatically.

Hi Dagmar3, out of curiosity, do you use cellular or WiFi data when scanning a document?
Can you switch, and let me know if you see any difference? If not, feel free to send me a screenshot of the scanned document, and how it looks on your end, once uploaded.

I used to scan my documents with the Dropbox App. But now a A4 page is so pixilated that it cannot be read. Is this another "we made it bad so you buy the pro" scheme or what? It is barely readable...

Hi @tEjxBC, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
What device are you currently using, and are there multiple cameras on it?
Are you on the latest version of the mobile OS, and the Dropbox mobile app?
Did you notice this change after a recent update, or changing phones, or at a random point?
This will help me to assist further!

Poco X3 NFC. Yes multiple cameras. But the same-as-always is used by Dropbox. Same phone for 2 years. Never was an issue. All up to date of course. Noticed randomly today.

I like the convenience of the scan feature in the Android Dropbox app, I use it for work receipts. However the resolution is pretty poor, small text is sometimes too pixelated to read. Black and white is fine for me, but I could really do with scanning at higher resolution. The camera on my phone is capable of much higher resolution (if I take it as a photo I can read the small text easily), but I can't find any way of adjusting the resolution in the app. All I can find is Contrast and to choose between 'B&W', 'Whiteboard' or 'Original' settings.
Am I missing any settings anywhere? If not then could this be added as a feature?

I use Android, usually scan on WIFI or data. Tried switching, doesn't help.

Hey there! When using Smart Engines for document scanning, it's up to you whether you want to use cellular or WiFi data. And you can definitely switch between the two, no problem! As for any difference, I haven't noticed any major changes in the scanned document quality when using either data type.
