I can upload to shared folders in Dropbox.com but not desktop app

Since the Upload button had greyed out, I then asked the client to take a look at my permissions on their end. They restored the permissions and now everything is working as expected- I'm able to copy files through Finder as well as over the web. The lock icons on the folders all disappeared. No one had gone and removed the permissions yesterday, so something was definitely wonky, which may have been repaired when I uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop app, and then asked the client to restore permissions. Anyway, looks like we're good now. Thank you for your time!

The fact that this happens with the app closed as well, means that this is not Dropbox related, that's why I wanted to have try that.
It sounds like it's an OS related permission issue that affects the local versions of the files, so you might want to look into that.
As for the upload button on the website, can you try again from a different browser and let me know what you see?
