Hey Selkie1, you mentioned you used the browser to upload content.
If you managed to close your browser, or just the Dropbox related tab there; that means the uploading process should be cancelled. You're good to delete the content that was added by mistake in the shared folder, and no new content should be uploaded when you open your laptop.
I hope this clarifies.

Hey Selkie1, thanks for posting your question to our Community.
Can you let us know how you're uploading these image files?
Are you using the Dropbox website, the desktop app or the mobile app?
If you used the website, you can just close your browser window and the upload will stop.
If you used the desktop app, you can just move the files out of the Dropbox folder.
Let me know how it goes!
- Selkie13 years agoHelpful | Level 5Thanks for the reply Hannah. I used my laptop and logged in via the Firefox browser. I selected the 'picture' folder on my c drive to upload to my shared folder. And I already had one email address liked to the shared folder so it looks like it started sharing immediately. My friend says he received 78 pictures when I only wanted to send certain photos. How can I make sure he doesn't receive any more once I log back in? Thanks
