Dropbox forcing files to go online only
I can't seem to find an answer to this, but my Dropbox app (Mac) is automatically forcing some of my offline files to go to online only. This becomes a big problem when I'm trying to access gigs of video files for an edit, but suddenly realize that I have to wait a while to get all of my media loaded.
Is anyone else running into this?

I'm having a nightmare with the latest Dropbox update too. Offline vs online files seem to be completely random - you go into a folder, and some are downloaded, some aren't, some have the green tick, some have the green tick AND a download icon, and even clicking the download icon doesn't work - the taskbar notification says that all my files are up to date and nothing is syncing. Absolute disaster. I'm trying to recover my files and then I'm cancelling my Dropbox subscription altogether.
Tried logging out, reinstalling, selecting 'make available offline' on the main Dropbox icon, you name it. - JayDropbox Staff
Hi everyone, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
If the files are not marked as available offline, this allows the Mac OS to automatically move files to online-only to free up local hard drive space, as per the File Provider system.
If you're still experiencing this and the files only have the green icon indicating the file is available offline, please contact the support team directly for them to investigate in more detail.
