Hi ianbian; I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue too.
Could you check if you have 'Battery optimization' set to on for our mobile app via your mobile's settings? To do this:
1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings > Battery.
2. If not available, swipe up or down to access apps screen then navigate: Settings > Device Care > Battery
3. Tap Battery Usage (next to Estimated battery life).
4. From the 'Battery usage since last full charge' section, tap one one the options (Screen, Call standby, etc.). Options will vary based on device usage:
- Tap Optimize battery usage.
- Tap the Dropdown menu (at the top) then tap All.
- If preferred, tap the app switch(es) to turn this off for our mobile app.
Let me know if this does the trick for you please!

Hey there megazord911 - how are you today?
Could you elaborate on your issue please? Are you expecting your mobile app to upload in the background; have I got it right?
If that's the case, it sounds like you the issue you are experiencing may be due to a setting in your Dropbox app. To ensure that everything is optimally configured can you please follow these steps:
- Open the Dropbox app
- Tap the menu
- Tap Settings
- Then under Camera uploads tap 'When to upload'
- Check it is not set to 'Only while phone is charging'
If this does not resolve this issue please let me know.

I'm having the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S9. Dropbox is only uploading photos when I open the app. This is the case whether or not the phone is plugged in. I currently have it set to do background uploading when the battery level is greater than 35%.
