drop box sync problem after upgrading
My drop box app will not sync with my home computer. I upgraded and it still has not performed as it
- 2 years ago
Hi,
no, nothing changed as just checking didn't solve the problem.
FYI: I solved the problem now by updating my OS to Ventura 13.1, because I had to go on working. This meant spending money for other software that needed to be updated for that step, but obviously this dropbox update isn't compatible with Mac OS 12.6 - you should make a disclaimer!
All the best,

Hey montgojd, sorry to hear about your syncing issue.
Can you please let us know the app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar/system tray on both of your devices?
This will help us assist further.

Same here.
After notification to switch to the latest version I downloaded v166.4.2920 on my MacMini (M1) OS 12.6 and later on my MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) OS 12.6. Now both showing the sync icon in the menu bar and say "indexing 7 files" (sometimes more or less). But no files I put in the folder get uploaded when I look them up online in the browser. I reinstalled the app on both computers two times, restarted several times. Dropbox has full access to disk - what's wrong?
Thanks and regards, silverface

Hey silverface, thanks for your comment here.
After the update of the Dropbox app for macOS, the Dropbox folder was moved to ~/Library/CloudStorage.
Is that where you've been adding your files to?
- silverface2 years agoHelpful | Level 6Hi,
thanks for your answer!
During the update it said, it‘d would move all files to a new folder. In the Finder sidebar Dropbox is now found above the system disk (have to get used to that).
BUT: If I click on the system disk and open „Library“ folder, there is no directory “CloudStorage“ in there. Do I have to generate it? And if the files aren’t there, where are they? They ARE on my harddrive- and I was convinced they were moved during the update process… 🤔
Thanks and all the best,
silverface
