Hi tdavis1, is there any chance that you locate the content, and move it back to the original path it was?
If the file is moved back, that should usually do the trick. If you need to update the shared link, in order to "follow" the file on the path it exists now, then you would need to re-create it.

Can you clarify the exact error you're getting when trying to access the link in question?
Is the file that the link points to deleted or moved to a confidential folder perhaps?
Any additional information you can share is more than welcome!

When clicking the link, it brings up a page that has a sad looking pug with, "That didn't work for some reason. If it's a fluke, it might work if you refresh the page. You can also ask us for help."
I believe that the original file that was linked to has been moved to a different folder. I have double-checked that permissions are set that anyone with a link can view it. I cannot know with certainty if it was moved since it was before my time with the company. I just know where the file is now.
I think my question essentially boils down to, can I customize a shared link or is it just auto-generated and out of my hands? OR is it possible that I could make that link redirect into the updated version?

Unfortunately, I do not know where the file originally was located when the link was created, nor does anyone else here.
I will just create a new link and my salesman will just have to deal with it. We will make it work.

Hi tdavis1 , we're launching a QR code feature within Dropbox that might solve your problem. I'm guessing you're currently using an external service to create QR codes that link back to Dropbox, which is difficult to maintain when files move around inside Dropbox.
I'll give you access to start using it next week. If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear!
