Hi, wallerlaurenp 👋 Thanks for sharing this feedback. I can totally understand your frustration here. I'd love to learn a bit more about the situation, so I can hopefully help you troubleshoot moving forward.
To start, would you mind checking to see if you have "Optimize iPhone Storage" enabled on your phone? This is an iOS setting that "offloads" some of your photos to iCloud to free up storage on your phone, and it makes those photos quite difficult for Dropbox to access (as they're not actually stored on your device).
You can check this in the following way:
- Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos.
- Check to see if "Sync this phone" has is toggled on (it'll be green).
- If so, check to see if "Optimize iPhone Storage" has a check mark next to it.
When you get a chance, let me know -- and we can go from there!

Well, now all of the photos are uploaded. Check.
But, they are uploaded with bizare filenames and the dates are erased forever. Awesome.
Also, I can only view them on a Mac, not on a PC.
Fabulous.
I can't afford to spend any more time on my dropbox issues. These problems have reached the point of insanity.

Hi there wallerlaurenp - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
When it comes to the issue with previewing the files on a Windows computer, could you let us know some additional information such as your device's OS and clarify if you're getting any particular error?

The photos that I upload from my iPhone or Mac can’t be read by my pc. I get a message that says the format is currently unsupported or the file is corrupted. The file is a jpg and it is not corrupted, because I can see it on my Mac. Slides in PowerPoints are also coming through as unsupported/corrupted. This is more than frustrating. This is negligence on the part of Dropbox.- Walter6 months agoDropbox Staff
Have you tried another media player to preview the files of your Windows computer wallerlaurenp?
Also, are you able to preview them normally on the website?
