Hi Jovin, can you delete your current link, and then follow these steps, in order to create a new link through our website?
Let me know if this changes things at all.

I deleted the file, uploaded again and created link with the share button insteady of the copy link button like I did before. I checked the permimssions after I originally copied the link and it all looked correct but hopefully this works by creating with the share button instead. I tested it while signed out into a different gmail with no dropbox linked and it looks like it's working, hopefully I get no more request emails. Thank you!

Update, I have gotten emails stating "xx wants access to your file" and I have not clicked the link in the email to grant access. I haven't gotten any messages from anyone asking for me to approve so not sure if they just gave up or it is working, don't know why I'm getting emails asking for me to "grant permission" though if the view link is working. One person has messaged asking for a different way to get the file because for some reason didn't want to sign up for dropbox so sent a drive link instead, but that has nothing to do with the permissions, just wanted to share that the mandatory sign up to view a file might be intimidating for some. Maybe for view only files Dropbox could grant permission to view without even signing in, maybe that wouldn't prompt the "wants access to your file" email either.
