Can't delete file as there is no delete option, any ideas?

- 4 years agoHi all, thanks for using Dropbox and posting on our Community!
Based on your descriptions and screenshots, it seems like you've enabled the computer backup feature.
While you can't delete the backed up folders on our website, you can disable the feature using these steps.
I hope this helps!

Hey there Jonathan H.1, I'd be happy to help out with this!
Can you try these steps to try and delete the file from your account online? If you're not able to see the delete option, please send me a screenshot of the options that you do see.
Let me know how it goes!

In the app there's no delete option. Just open, open with, preview, star, share, etc.
On web there's also no delete option.

Why is it not showing any any devices when the rest of the folder is synced and I have all hidden files showing. It doesn't even show if I do "ls -la".

Through the Dropbox app on your computer, you should be able to delete files like you would normally from your computer Jonathan H.1.
You can right click the file or click the "..." in the top right corner of the window when the file is selected to see the "Delete" option. Otherwise, you can select the file and press the keys Command+Backspace.
I'm not 100% sure I understand what you're referring to there in your second post, could you let me know a little more detail about this?

As I told you before, there is no delete option on the Dropbox app.
Also, as I told you before, the items do not appear on any Dropbox-synced machines to delete through the normal file system. Not even under a "ls -la".
