I accidentally dragged the Dropbox icon into Chrome, are my files now public?
I have accidentally dragged my dropbox icon onto google chrome, it created an index(Links) on chrome webpage. Are my files public?
I deleted the browser history in the hopes the index (Links) would dissapear, but how do can I check if my documents are infact still private and not on google?
- "Accidental drag and drop files on webpageRecently I have accidentally drag and drop my files on a webpage on chrome. It redirects me to the file as if the browser just open the file. The url tells me that it is a local file. Will there be any security breach? For instance, will the site owners have access to my files? Or the directory and filenames? "The message above was posted on google chrome help by "Accidental Ben"This is basically what happened, however there are no posts with solutions there.I thought I would share it here, maybe my message was vague. If anyone could shed some light that would be appreciated.

Hey leen27, thanks for posting!
This wouldn't share your files from your Dropbox account, you would need to either create a shared link, or share a folder for this to happen.
It seems that it just caused a file path to be saved in Chrome like a bookmark. If it's a file path for a file, then it would only work on this computer where the file is stored.
I can suggest simply deleting the link that was created in Chrome.
Let me know if you have any questions!
