Cannot open Excel files
Connot open Excel files from Dropbox folder since yesterday. Word files are OK
- 5 years ago
Now I found the same problem trying to open an Excel attachement in a mail. Obviously it is a Excel problem and not a Dropbox issue. The workaround works in both cases.
Thanks again!

Hey Ard1, thanks for reaching out to us here!
Can you let me know what kind of issue you're having opening your files? For example, are you getting an error message?
If so, please send along a screenshot of this excluding any personal info.
Let me know and we can go from there!

Hi Daphne,
What happens when I try to open an Excel file in Dropbox from Windows explorer is that Excel opens with a blanc screen but no file appears. No error message. To be honest I forgot to make a printscreen :-(
Does this help you?
Best regards, Ard

Thanks for getting back to me here Ard1.
Could you try opening the Excel app first and then use the "Open" option to try open files from your Dropbox folder to see if there's any change there?
If it's possible, please send over a screenshot if you get the same behaviour.
Keep me posted!

Thanks Daphne,
This seems to work at least twice with files, which are not on my Excel "recent files" list. So This is a good workaround for me although we do not know yet why opening from Explorer suddenly stopped functioning.
Thanks for your help,
Best regards, Ard
