126 TopicsDo you access your Dropbox content on other apps outside of the Dropbox app? Feedback appreciated!
Hi everyone, My name isEmily, a Product Manager on the Dropbox Mobile app team and I am here because I wanted to reach out to the community to learn about how you access your Dropbox content outside the Dropbox app. We are planning to make some improvements to the way Dropbox integrates with other apps and want to hear your feedback. Here are a few questions to get the conversation started: What apps do you use to access your Dropbox content (outside of Dropbox)? What types of devices do you use them on? (iOS, Android, tablet, etc) How often do you use these apps? (daily, weekly, monthly) What works about this set up? What doesn’t? Is there anything you‘d like to see improved from the Dropbox side? We understand that everyone's experience may differ, so we welcome all types of feedback, positive or negative. We're committed to continuously improving our product so your feedback will help us make it better. Thank you in advance for your time and input. We're excited to hear what you have to say! Hi there. Whenever I use Pages on my iPad for word processing and the file it’s using is sourced from Dropbox I’m getting multiple conflicted copies generated. It feels like 1 every 5 minutes or whenever the program auto-saves so 30 minutes of writing will generate multiple conflicted copies in my Dropbox folder. Anyone have any solutions or workarounds to this? Thanks383Views1like4CommentsCan I change the PDF viewer in the Dropbox app on iPad?
Is there a way to change/extend the PDF viewer in the Dropbox App for the iPad? When I click on "Open in" in a PDF, it only shows the option of Adobe, but I use want to use the Xodo app. Even when I uninstall Adobe it wants me to install it or won’t open the PDF on the tablet. I have tried installing other PDF readers and none will show up in the list to open the files When I open the files from Xodo directly, I keep creating conflicting copies or it won’t save the changes I have made.26Views0likes4CommentsI'm seeing a weird exclamation mark next to Dropbox on Xmind on my iPad.
Hello, My Dropbox app on iPad is not syncing with my Windows 11 desktop. For example, when I open a mind mapping software that I use (Xmind) and try to open a mind map that I saved in Dropbox desktop: beside the Dropbox icon, there is a circle formed by two arrows with an exclamation point inside of the circle. I cannot find any information in Dropbox support files on this specific icon. I am guessing it is indicating some sort of sync issue. I would appreciate your instruction and help for this Dropbox newbie. Thanks much! DaveSolved64Views0likes14CommentsOpen .pages files in Dropbox on iPad
Hi there I‘m moving away from Office 365 to Apple apps. When on my iPad, when I click on a Word file, I get the „open in“ button to open in Microsoft Word. When I click on a .pages file, I only get an „open“ button which, when clicked, opens the file in Dropbox with no editing options. What am I doing wrong? I have the Dropbox app on my previous tablet, the Fire HD 10. At one time Dropbox was in the Amazon app store (analogous to Google Play store). It's not there any more. The Kindle is an Android device, but Google Play apps can't reliably be installed. I assumed I'd be able to install Dropbox on the newest Fire tablet. Not so. I spent an hour on the phone this afternoon with an Amazon CSR who ultimately told me that if an app isn't in the Amazon app store, you can't install it. Even though the Dropbox app is in my Amazon app library, I still can't download/install it on the new tablet. But I wouldn't expect him to know of a secret way to do it, or if he did know, to tell me. I can log in to Dropbox.com on the Kindle's Silk browser, but when I try to open a "paper," I get a message to download the app. 🙄 Yeah, that's what I'd like to do. I do have a Dropbox Plus paid subscription. It would be great if I could somehow transfer the app from my older Kindle to the new one. Can anyone help?318Views0likes4CommentsMy Word files are not getting saved to Dropbox on Android
Greetings to the Community, I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have been experiencing with the Microsoft Word app on my Android tablet in conjunction with Dropbox. Previously, I was able to seamlessly save my Word documents to my Dropbox account by selecting "Save As" and choosing the Dropbox folder. However, for the past month, this process has ceased to function. Despite diligently following the same steps as before, my saved documents are no longer appearing in the Dropbox app, Dropbox Web, or my Dropbox desktop application on my laptop. Essentially, my work is not being uploaded to Dropbox. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter. Your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Sincerely, Joseph2KViews0likes18Comments
