when I downloaded dropbox onto my laptop, it prompted me to enable auto saving screenshots as jpeg, which has been quite helpful. however, I have not been able to enable that option on my pc, I can't access the settings, dropbox has a very useless article on how to enable this, but like I said, it is useless and full of wrong info, I can't open the "dropbox desktop app" in order to access the settings.22Views0likes3CommentsCertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) Cannot find object or property.
As multiple other users have already reported over the last couple years, I am seeing many of these error events in my Windows 10 Event Viewer, all coming from the DbxSvc(Dropbox service) event source. Can you all please fix your desktop client software to stop spamming my event logs with these errors? This issue has dragged on far, far too long already. Either stop emitting these errors, or fix the underlying problem. Thank you.43KViews9likes98CommentsI get an error message that Windows System Restore failed?
Hi When I run Windows System Restore it fails with this error message System Restore failed to replace the file (D:\Users\*******\Dropbox\.dropbox.cache\qebcobkqbgbzfynfuwbof\placeholder.bat) with its original copy from the restore point. An unspecified error occurred during restore. (0x80070780) I have completed system recovery from an image without problem but on several occasions I have come up against this error when trying to correct a problem using system restore which would be easier to use if I could. I still have the problem if I run the system restore in safe mode with the same failour message Any suggestions on allowing the restore to work RichardSolved29KViews3likes157CommentsDropbox Migration to a New Mac With the New Cloud Storage Setup
On my primary computer, I keep all Dropbox files in offline mode. I've updated to the new Dropbox setup that places the Dropbox folder in ~/Library/CloudStorage. I'm wondering what will happen when I move to a new Mac in the future. In the past, the macOS transfer program would transfer all my files to the new computer's drive, and then Dropbox would reindex them (rather than having to redownload all the files from Dropbox). What will happen now with the new Dropbox setup? Thanks.Solved6.5KViews1like28CommentsMacOS: No "Dropbox" in the "Location" settings of Finder
I have updated Dropbox on MacOS (12.6.5), and I have learned that I should know be able to see "Dropbox" in Finder on the left hand pane under 'Locations'. However there is no such entry; 'Locations' is empty. I *can* access Dropbox in the following way: In the MacOS menu bar, I click the Dropbox icon, and then click the icon which says "Open Dropbox Folder". Then a Finder window opens, showing my Dropbox files. I just wonder why I can't see them in just a normal new Finder window.Solved8.9KViews2likes40Comments
