So it began with a 'FREE' trial for 30 days - I needed one use out of it. Yes my fault, did not write down when to cancel, even got an email saying that I wasn't using Dropbox enough. 3 days after they charged my credit card, I see it on my statement = CA$312.48 I go to cancel. NOT knowing 2 things: When you drop down to BASIC plan, email support, live chat support and phone support aren't supported on the Basic plan. Chatbox is included but it's unhelpful, it takes you around in circles. Now I'm here in Community forums and I'm not sure if anyone with authority is able to help me get my money back. When you cancel your subscription, MOST subscriptions will still allow you to have access to your subscription features until the end of the active billing cycle. NOT THIS ONE. I automatically paid for the year, realized what happened, cancelled my subscription without knowing the first fact and now I'm screwed. Do I need to pay for Dropbox Plus, Professional, Essentials again? To maybe get my money back for the first payment and this second one? Well done corporate entity. You know people forget **bleep** and this is how you're set up. Happy Holidays, checkmate for you.9Views0likes4CommentsWe're getting an error when saving CAD files to our Dropbox team account.
Hello all! Working for a company that uses Dropbox business for file storage. Especially CAD files at the moment. About a month ago we encountered problems with saving 2D drawings to our Dropbox. After asking the CAD-software rep for help they sent us over to Dropbox to ask here. It specifically happens when trying to save new iterations of existing 2D drawing's in Inventor. It gives us the error in the image below. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? Thanks in advance!10Views0likes2CommentsHow to categorize images automatically based on content inside with Dropbox AI?
Hi everyone, I checked on Google and found that Dropbox has AI feature. I want to ask how to use it to categorize images based on content inside with Dropbox AI. I have 5000 images about fashion mostly. Some are leather clothes, some are Jean, some are Blazers, some are T-Shirts... I want to move all images auto to some folders that fit with their categories automatically. If Dropbox AI or Dropbox Automation or any tool out there can do that, please guide me. Much appreciate!!! Yours Sincerely, Nathan38Views0likes3CommentsQuicker and effortless way of uploading large data
I got raw video data about 5 TB (mostly large video files 1+ GB) saved in two external drives. I started uploading data in my account but it's taking long (which is expected). Currently uploading files individually (one by one or if smaller size then in group of 4-5) and drag to the dashboard of folder where I want to upload that. And keeping record of what's been uploaded on a separate word file. I am wondering if there is any quicker way to upload or any tips? Thanks!18Views0likes2CommentsWhy have there been changes to Dropbox Advanced / Business Plus subscriptions?
Dear Dropbox Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a long-term subscriber to the Dropbox Advanced / Business Plus plan, which my organization has used since 2017 primarily for file storage (completed projects, library, work hour records, etc.) and file sharing among 2–3 users working on active projects. Over the years, we have observed significant changes to the plan's conditions and pricing, which I would like to bring to your attention: Subscription History: • 2017–2021: €540/year, with unlimited storage included. • 2022: Updated to €648/year (+€108/year), still with unlimited storage. • 2023 onward: Maintained at €648/year, but unlimited storage was replaced by a fixed limit: 15 TB of paid storage (covering 3 licenses and all add-ons). An additional 11 TB valid only until October 31, 2028. Cost Analysis: If we compare these costs with external hard drive solutions: • An 8 TB Seagate Barracuda external drive currently costs less than €150. • 16 TB = 2 drives (€300), 24 TB = 3 drives (€450), 32 TB = 4 drives (€600). Over the years, our total Dropbox expenses are as follows: • 2017–2023: €4,644 (5 × €540 + 3 × €648). Equivalent to 240 TB in external storage (30 drives). • 2017–2028: Projected total€6,588 (5 × €540 + 6 × €648). Equivalent to 344 TB in external storage (43 drives). This raises the question: by 2028, after paying €6,588, we will only have access to 15 TB of permanent storage on the Business Plus plan, which is less competitive compared to other cloud / storage solutions. Policy Impact on Loyal Customers: We understand that some users have misused unlimited storage plans. However, the response to restrict storage capacity significantly impacts regular users who have adhered to fair usage practices. It feels unjust for loyal subscribers of 8+ years to bear the brunt of these policy changes. Request for Consideration: I kindly ask Dropbox to internally escalate this concern and reconsider its storage policy for Business Plus customers. Long-term subscribers deserve a fair and competitive offering that acknowledges their loyalty and business needs with the following adjustments: • Revise the storage limit by gradually increasing the storage for Business Plus subscribers according to their needs. • Evaluate individual cases to ensure that customers like us, who have used the service responsibly, are not unfairly penalized. I am confident that Dropbox values its long-term customers and will take steps to ensure we receive a fair and competitive offering that aligns with our ongoing needs. Thank you for your attention and support in resolving this matter. I look forward to hearing from your team. Hi, I'm on a business trial plan at the moment and I want to add more license to the team (10 license). I tried doing it via the admin console in manage license, but it always says payment error, even though I have added the billing method. I tried with different browsers as well and nothing worked (mozila, chrome, opera, edge). I tried managing license from different panels, billing panel and member panel and both did not work and return the same payment error. Then I tried to invite 10 people into my team so I can have 10 license, but this also does not work. The first 2 invitations were sent successfully, but when I tried to invite more people, I get this error. How can I increase the number of license that I have on business trial? Or can this not be done at all? Thanks.50Views0likes5CommentsThe extra storage space from the upgrade isn't showing on my desktop app.
So I upgraded my account from 2TB to 3TB. And in the website it shows I have 3TB, yet on the desktop app when I click on 'manage hard drive space' it shows 2TB. Any idea if / when this will update or is there something I need to do? Thanks in advance!Solved28Views0likes2CommentsAccessing a deactivated Business Account
I had a PAID Business Account that I can no longer access. It's like it has been deleted. When I attempt to log in, Dropbox acts like I'm trying to open a new account with that email. My personal account works, but a while back Dropbox arbitrarily unlinked the two when some changes pushed through. I need access to my files! HELP!954Views0likes8CommentsDoes the file request upload size limit affect trial plans?
The documentation states the following, but despite multiple attempts to upload a 250GB file through the file request feature, it consistently results in an error and the upload does not complete. Since we are currently conducting a Proof of Concept (PoC) and using the Dropbox Business Plus Trial plan, could this limitation be due to the trial version? Customers on Dropbox Professional, Essentials, Business, Business Plus, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise can receive files up to 250GB in size. Link to the documentation741Views0likes8Comments
