downgrade
268 TopicsAccount appears to have been deleted with no warning...
Hello, I hope someone can help. I have had a dropbox account going back many years, and have been using it to upload family photos (and camera uploads automatically from my phone). In October last year, I received an email saying my account had been downgraded as a payment for my plan hadn't gone throughâbut my inbox is a mess, so I only just saw it this evening. The email said it was downgraded but that my files hadn't been deleted. There was nothing about deletion. However, when I logged in tonight, it's like a brand new account... No files at all, no event/account activity. Has anyone had a similar situation? I'm so frightened that I've lost everything, as this was my backup. I don't know what I'll do if I can't recover my files. That's my wedding, my deceased family members, my whole life going back to 2012... Any assistance at all would be so appreciated. Thank you in advance!4Views0likes0CommentsMy Dropbox account became Basic after a Business trial, even though I had paid for a personal plan.
I trialled the business plan after much 'pushing' from dropbox. now it has ended and I seem to be downgraded to a basic account when I had already paid for the professional essentials account. Please help.35Views0likes2CommentsI wanted to cancel my Business trial and ended up deleting my Dropbox account instead.
No clue what happened, so going to lay everything out here. Have a personal professional DB account, and upgraded to business as a trial, a business with 1 user. This creates two folders, your old personal file and the team folder. I didn't like how personal files are so close to business, i basically have my entire life in DB so wanted more separation and would recreate a business team account with my work email. Go into the business trial and cancel the trial. Which prompts you what would you like to do with the team files. There were no team files, I just created the account 5 min ago. There was only my personal files in a separate folder. So i hit delete permanently. My entire account is gone. It appears it permanently deleted everything and my account now says suspended if I try and login with my original email. I have a support ticket in, but currently freaking out as my entire life is in that Dropbox. I'm very tech savy and felt like that entire process was a disaster. If i have a personal account, and create a team, common sense would be the business and personal are separate files and not together. So once you close the team, you just go back to your personal account. Especially since my personal account was being upsold as "Give this a trial for 30 days"81Views0likes10CommentsStorage alert says I'm about to stop syncing but I have enough space
Hi there I recently cancelled my paid plan as I've switched to another storage option that serves me just fine. Over the years I gained more Dropbox storage through referrals etc, so my total storage is showing 10.13GB since I cancelled my plan. Plenty for my needs as all that is on Dropbox is a shared folder managed by a colleague. However, I'm now getting alerts in the app that I'm almost out of storage and that even 'one more file' might break everything. Is this just marketing hype or something I need to be concerned about? The latest alert is an email that says: Notice: Your files are about to stop syncing, **** Here's access to up to 3 TB (3,000 GB) of space. There's limited space available in your Dropbox. Even adding just one more file might stop your account from syncing and being able to access them when you need to Yet when I go into my account settings on the top right of the Dropbox web app it confirms that I have 10.13GB. The shared folder takes about 8GB so I comfortably have space to spare. So do I just have to put up with annoying emails from Dropbox pushing me back onto paid plans now that I'm back to a free plan, or is there a danger of any consequences? Thanks! I recently created my Dropbox account. I clicked 'Business', because I am using the account through work, but I didn't realise this meant I was getting a free trial that would expire?!? I needed this account to create a link that could be shared to hundreds of people. I have already sent the link, but I need it to be active for at least 42 days. The problem is my free trial expires in around 14 days. What will happen to my link when the free trial expires? Will it still work for those recipients? What will become of my account? Will it just convert to a 'regular' account?39Views0likes3CommentsWhy was my Family plan downgraded?
Good morning I received the following email: The credit card used to pay for the subscription was cancelled but now they have cancelled my family plan even though I have already paid for the year? Any help would be much appreciated. Hi Tihan, There was an issue with the payment information associated with your Dropbox Family plan. We tried to reach out to your plan manager [Removed as per Community Guidelines] multiple times, but werenât able to successfully charge your subscription after multiple attempts. Your account has been downgraded to a Dropbox Basic plan and other Dropbox Family plan members have also had their accounts downgraded to Dropbox Basic. None of your files have been deleted, but you wonât be able to sync or add new files to Dropbox if you are using more space than your new storage limit.30Views0likes6CommentsMy paid account has been downgraded to Basic after making the payment.

Info: VIN*Dropbox Now, my account has been downgraded to our Dropbox Basic plan. What is this? How do we get support on this kind of issues? The website gives no email address to contact.56Views0likes4CommentsI accidentally created a new Dropbox account with Google and I can't access my Plus plan.
I'm having trouble with my subscription being downgraded from DropboxPlus to DropboxBasis. Because the amount of data in DropboxPlus is more than allowed in DropboxBasis, my subscription is no longer accessible. I myself have not ordered for downgrading. The cause seems to have started because a new app â which I tested â wanted access to the "Plus" subscription. I probably accidentally pressed the Google button for the necessary login, which eventually created a new account (the email address of the original DropboxPlus account is not the email address at Google). Not much later I received an email reporting the downgrading. I admit that this led to a lot of stress in the expectation that there might be little left of the stocks. I then investigated whether I could fix this and do not rule out that this has led to wrong (payment) actions. I contacted Dropbox about this and got a ticket. I did have a reaction but I couldn't do much with it. It also became clear that my account type will not immediately lead to further substantive action. I just had to figure it out. In itself, figuring it out is okay, but if you don't master the English language and have to rely on machine translations, you won't get much further. I was able to disconnect the newly created account from Google and give my own passwords. So it could be removed. Still my original account remains inaccessible ....... And...... In the meantime, I see two mutations on my bank account today. A debit and a refund. I would like to know what the status is of both the original and the new account but howâŠâŠ.104Views1like9Comments
