The Automation feature does not work for me - nothing happens when files are added to the folder
I'd first like to say in advance, thank you to anyone who posts here and is willing to lend a hand. 2nd I'd like to make it clear automation has never worked for me. All the other messages I've seen here regarding automation have to do with the fact it has stopped working, or it partially works. It's never worked at all for me. All I'm trying to do is simple audio file conversion. I want everything converted to Mp3. I have the automation set, and when files are added, nothing happens. I've tried dragging files straight to desktop page, I've tried moving files in from the smart phone app, I've tried different browsers, same result. No, I haven't tried clearing browser cache, because never once in my life has that ever worked when it was suggested as a potential fix, so I don't bother with it. I've tried creating the same automation in different folders, I've tried creating a new folder with the automation enabled from the get-go. Nothing works. Just for experiments sake, I also tried to setup a different kind of automation to rename the files, to see what would happen. That doesn't work either. I am willing to clear browser cache if someone REALLY thinks that's the solution here. The only way I'm able to convert the files is manually. I'll right click the file and select "save as" -- "Mp3". Then it will convert immediately. Below is a screen shot of the automation I've created. Again, thank you to anyone who offers some assistance.
Automations stopped working all of a sudden
I have automations built to (1) rename files when they are dropped into a folder and then (2) move them to another folder. At 3pm, I noticed a glitch on the dropbox interface and then all automations stopped working. No renaming, no moving. Automations were all working prior to then. How can I copy a file at night to an archive folder?
Hi I’m working on an important file. I would like to copy this file automatically during night to an archive folder, and rename that file with a day stamp in its name. Anyone has experience with this? (My pc is not running during the night) Thx Bart
How can I turn off automations on a folder?
I set up my new Folder with automated conversion to MP4 because I thought I would need that format. However, I do not. I have been unable to figure out how to turn it off for that Folder. on my PC--I set it up on my iPhone originally. When I go to Settings and Automations on the right side of my PC and Delete the conversion step, I get the attached screen, which does not allow me to Save the change. So I must be doing something wrong.
Automation to delete content from a folder
Good afternoon!! I need to create an automation to delete all the contents of a folder with a fixed periodicity, for example every 48 hours all the photographs in a folder have to be deleted. We have a company that generates many daily photos for sale instantly, so the next day I need to free up that space to save the new photographs we take. Do you know how to program it?
An automation I added to a main folder is not consistently working for its subfolders
HI all. I have added automation to ONE folder, the main folder. It says that it will be added to all the subfolders. And that the others subfolders do not need the automation added to them. So I dont. But the automation is not add correctly. I am get it to work sometimes and then is just disappears and stop working. This is extremely frustrating as this is a great tool if it would actually work. I am just trying to add a water mark automatically to all the files I load into that folder. Please help and tell me I am doing something wrong so I can fix it.
