I would much prefer to have the files and folders presented in a file manager tree view rather than having half of the screen taken up with preview thumbnails of recent files. The current layout is frustrating to work with, especially when working collaboratively as it encourages poor file management practices. I want my Dropbox interface to be clear and functional, not fun.99Views0likes3Comments"That didn't work for some reason" error; I can't open my shared link.
I have a shared link to a gaming document that I've been using for a while. However, every time I've tried to use the link over the pass couple of days, I get the message shown below. I've refreshed the page, used different browsers, cleared my cache, but nothing seems to work. I've had others test the link and they've been able to use it just fine, so I don't believe the document has been delete. Does anyone know how I might be able to access it again?26Views0likes7CommentsCan't access dropbox website on laptop
Hi there, I'm unable to access dropbox.com on my laptop, which is connected to my home WiFi. I have tried various browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) to no avail. I don't have a problem accessing the website on my phone, which is also connected to my home network, so I reckon that rules out a network issue. The error I get on Chrome says: "This website can't be reached. www.dropbox.com refused to connect. ERR_CONNECTION_Refuses" I've searched the forum but none of the suggestions have helped. Hope someone can! Thanks.Solved4.5KViews0likes10CommentsAllow hiding individual photos of folders from the Photos tab
The Photos Folder is not a useful tool if we are not able to decide what shows up there. I am using Dropbox to back up a Mac, so photos that are on my Mac are in those backups and also stored in other folders on Dropbox. Therefore, in the Photos Folder there are duplicate copies of each of those photos. I cannot delete either as they are on Dropbox for different purposes - one as a backup and one as part of my photo organization system in Dropbox. Without the ability to hide photos from my Photos Folder, I will need to find another way to organize my photos.24KViews46likes23CommentsI tried to upload a folder via file request, but nothing happened. Has it been uploaded?
I have received a file request from another user, to upload a folder into his storage "area". I got the email, clicked the link, and got a window with a file submission area. I pressed the upload button. There was no response, no "upload started" or "progress" message. I cannot tell if the folder is being uploaded or has been uploaded. Eventually I can ask the requester if he got the files, but that is potentially a tedious back-and-forth process (especially if the upload failed, or didn't even start). Is there a way for the non-requester to verify that the file is being uploaded?15Views0likes1CommentImprove Photos.dropbox.com performance
I love that Dropbox is platform agnostic. I don't want to rely on Google or Microsoft. But Photos.dropbox.com needs serious improvement or I will not be renewing my subscription next year. Photos is the #1 thing I store in Dropbox. Even ignoring how many more features Google Photos has, just loading in the photo grid in dropbox feels slow and unresponsive. If you could make it so that I could load in Dropbox photos and quickly get to a photo I know I have from a year or two ago, I would be happy. Could you do more caching of lower quality thumbnails? Maybe that is why scrolling feels so unresponsive. The count and dates of photos are clearly not cached or precomputed, because when I load the page, it takes a minute for the date scrollbar to fully load all the months I have photos from. Even if you could just do this for Camera Roll, that would be amazing.160Views0likes3CommentsRemove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.5KViews5likes27CommentsHow can I view the number of files and images in a folder?
This seems like a simple enough task but I can't figure out how to view the number of anything in a folder. For example, how many of my images have transferred from my phone to my dropbox account? What's the difference between the "photos" folder in the left hand menu (web version) vs "camera upload" folder on the app? I can see in the "camera upload" folder I have 4922 files. It doesn't distinguish between photos or videos. This number is useless to me unless I know the origin of the photos. I know I don't have 4922 photos on my phone. I have 8800 photos in my iCloud and 396 videos in my iCloud. On my phone, it says my photos are about 3G. Maybe I'm asking too much, I used to have Box and I can see the number of items in a folder so I can see if what I'm uploading is matching. Why is this so hard? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks260Views0likes13CommentsI cannot download any files from the website as I'm getting an error
I cannot download anything from Dropbox. The first time in any session, a file or folder can download. The next time I try to download anything, large or small, I get the above error message. I have zero faith in Dropbox and want to remove all my files and use another provider. Please tell me how I can access my files.24Views0likes1Comment
