Sync
5005 Topics"798 files unable to sync" error on the Dropbox desktop app
My DB has been syncing for weeks and alternatively tells me it can't sink files (300, 600, whatever). It says to check sync issues but there is no information if I click on that and I have no idea where to find the files that are "stuck". I think all of this syncing is also interfering with running other apps. I am at wits end! Please help!15Views0likes2CommentsMy Mac is stuck at "Syncing" after updating my OS.
Dropbox icon is saying "Syncing . . . " forever. I upgraded macOS to the latest version (15.3.1) and restarted the machine. (I don't know how to update Dropbox .) "View sync issues" says "You don't have any sync issues." How can one diagnose what's going wrong?35Views0likes6CommentsDropbox 217.4.4417 on MacOS Sequoia 15.3 doesn't stop indexing
I installed Dropbox 217.4.4417 on a new Mac with Sequoia 15.3 OS. After logging in it never managed to pass the indexing stage. I tried the following: - Logging out and logging back in; - Uninstalling and reinstalling the application (also using advanced reinstallation); - Fixing the hardlinks as suggested here [https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001014/dropbox-stuck-indexing-files/680930]; - Giving access to full hard disk; Nothing seems to fix the issue. I can see by monitoring Dropbox via Activity Monitor that it doesn't use almost any CPU/GPU and it does not use almost any network resources. Nevertheless, the app is still saying it is "indexing". Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!106Views0likes10CommentsRecently updated files become online-only, while older files remain available offline.
Hi! Smart Sync or whatsitsname automatically puts "old files" to "offline only", which seems like a good idea. I've experienced a lot lately that it puts files that I'm actively using, last edited just a few days ago to offline only, while there's plenty of files that I haven't touched for ages that are left available offline. I can't quite figure out the logic behind it and it's quite frustrating to have to download stuff all the time. Is there any way to change settings for this, or somehow whitelist stuff that I'm actually using? Thanks, Joel43Views0likes11CommentsIssue with Dropbox from flathub on Fedora 41 with Gnome
Hello, I’m having a difficulty using Dropbox (from flathub) on Fedora 41 with Gnome: Once in a while (probably after reboot), Dropbox stops syncing. I have to clic on the Dropbox icon on the Fedora dash, then the app want to reconnect via the web but is not recognizing it is already connected with this computer, so, as I am limited with 3 devices, I have to disconnect Dropbox from this computer (still appearing in the list of connected devices) and then retry to click on the icon and then clic connect on the web page and then it syncs again. What am I doing wrong? Is there a bug? Why the app is not recognizing it is on an already connected device? I don’t have such issue with Dropbox app on Ubuntu.41Views0likes5CommentsThe desktop app appears up to date, but my file hasn't been downloaded.
Hi, hope someone can help me here. Im trying to download a file through desktop app and once its all synced, it says 'Sync Completed' but doesnt shows the file on my desktop folder. I tried restarting the app and pc both but nothing helps. I have a doubt here about disk space. So, let me clear it a bit- So, the file im syncing is 400gb and available space on disc is 700 gb There is more then enough space for sync but does it needs 400gb space more when it flushes the file over disk? I dont know may be im wrong but if anyone can guide, It ll be very helpfull. Thank you! - Maann27Views0likes1CommentCan I keep files in my Dropbox account but remove them from my C drive?
I just noticed that one of our company users has run out of space on his C drive. Upon checking , I found a HUGE amount of data is sync'd with the company's Dropbox account. The user said he doesn't need these on his desktop computer, hence the question. Can you please tell me the process. CheersSolved34Views0likes3Comments
