I have been having issues with my dropbox syncing across devices - I think there is an issue in my selective sync. However, everytime I attempt to open the dropbox desktop application on my mac, it only opens the finder folder. I have no options to go to dropbox setting or preferences from there.19Views0likes3CommentsCreate a food quality check system for my team to upload photos of food quality and meal temps
I would like to create an upload team for my culinary team that will check all of the food temperatures and quality and upload these items on a daily basis. Similar to this. AM I overthinking it?Solved364Views0likes5CommentsOpen links to files in shared folders directly in Finder instead of the site
Our company uses Dropbox Business, and teammates regularly send e-mailed links to files within the shared folders. Clicking them spawns the web browser which then prompts me to download a copy of the file instead of taking me to the file, which might be nested in a folder several layers deep, in the Dropbox app or Finder. So my request is to give users an option to open links to files that are already in the shared Dropbox folders using Finder, or at least the Dropbox desktop app.837Views2likes4CommentsFiles don't sync correctly. What can I do?
I’ve been using Dropbox to store and sync important media files for my Sellvia store, but recently, some files aren’t syncing properly across my devices. I’ve tried restarting the app and checking my internet connection, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced this? Any fixes you’d recommend?30Views0likes3Commentslist of links
It would be quite useful to be able to compile a folder or a document with a list of links to Dropbox files that are made available locally. Imagine a speech that needs a set of texts or images to be opened in sequence. Or a performance in which it is necessary to compile a list of scores that need to be accessed quickly without browsing. The interest in just links, and not copies, is to access the latest versions adjourned in Dropbox from any of the connected devices. This is clearly possible in Windows where a folder or a .docx document can be compiled with links to Dropbox files made available locally. In Android unfortunately this is not possible. Someone suggests to make copies of the files into the local space (not Dropbox) and link to that. But this would not allow the great feature of dynamic update on Dropbox files. I have tried on my tablet to compile a file with links, but when I browse to get the link to a Dropbox file, I go nowhere. I have enquired the Dropbox assistance team and they told me that this feature is not available in Android. I think that this would be a great addition. If anyone in the community has a suggestion I would much appreciate it. Best to all. PS: In serching for a solution someone suggests to insert a path like this to locally available cash: Andoid/data/com.dropbox.android/files/USERHASH/scratch/folder/file.tx but I do not have the USERHASH and the path may be wrong.11Views1like0CommentsThe Dropbox right-click options are gone from my Mac's Finder.
My files are all in the cloud. This restricts things I can do on my Mac; I can't preview or upload to the web, for example (which I want to do often). I thought one used to be able to right click in the Finder and make a particular folder available offline. But that's missing on my Mac. Right clicking in a Dropbox folder reveals nothing connected to Dropbox. Otherwise, files function and sync if opened and modified as normal. The Dropbox icon at the top right of the Mac screen is visible and seems to be functioning normally. Can right clicking in the Finder be turned on somehow? I have the option to make all Dropbox files available offline in Dropbox preferences, but I don't want all of the files—just some of them.226Views0likes21CommentsIncomplete sync
I just purchased a new MacBook Pro computer, running iOS 15.3.1. I migrated most of my files from my prior computer, using Migration Assistant. Created a new folder in Dropbox on my iPad, and the contents appeared on Dropbox.com, but will not show up on my laptop. I tried pausing syncing, then restarting, rebooting my computer, then finally uninstalling the Desktop Dropbox application and reinstalling it with the most current version. It seems that one thing the may have been limiting Dropbox was that I was using Dropbox Basic, and somewhere along the way that was limited to only 3 devices, and I have Dropbox linked to 5 devices. So I also upgraded to Dropbox Plus, which allows multiple devices to sync. My computer went through the whole sync process, and says everything is up to date, but only about 75-80% of my folders and 75-80% of the files in those folders are syncing, and it seems very random. Some folders do not even appear on my MacBook Pro, so I cannot right click to make the folder contents appear off line. And at least one folder, which should have 115 small files in it, is empty on my laptop. Syncing still works fine on my older computer. I have looked at online help, etc, and not found anything to fix this problem. Can anyone help?15Views0likes1Comment
