872 TopicsThe ability to add tags in the mobile app.
Iâm not sure why this has been suggested for years now and this basic functionality still isnât present in the app. This makes your automation really frustrating if I canât add tags on my phone when Iâm away from my computer and adding files from my phone.73Views4likes3CommentsWhich plans have access to OCR search?
There seems to be a lot of confusion and contradicting info out on the web about what your platform is capable of and at what service level needs to be subscribed to in order to search files in Dropbox using OCR text. I'm hoping this thread will assist me and others to get a clear answer. First, please specify which of these Packages have access to OCR search capability. Basic/Plus/Professional(essentials?)/Family/Standard/Enterprise. Second, What file needs to be supplied in order for it to work. What are the Requirements we need to follow for it to function? For instance, Can we upload our own PDF files with or without OCR previously applied? Do we need to use your special mobile scanning app, etc.... Thank you in advance, Dave.50Views0likes5Comments#Can tags be more useful?
I'm an Evernote user from the early days. Tagging items has been something I'm accustomed to for a long time. I'm bummed that Dropbox isn't taking full advantage of these. They are not easy to get to in the web interface at all. I count at least 3 clicks, and none of those clicks are "Tag..." Once something is tagged... am I just missing something? It's not evident at all. They aren't distinguished in a "bubble" or "block", color coded, and no option exists in the sidebar. I also cannot add the tags to my visible column set (also really lacking area). The only place I've discovered that tags actually exists in the web interface is under the search bar - but not at all where I would expect to see them in the application.26Views0likes2CommentsSearch in a folder showing results from other folders
I'm trying to search for a specific file type in one of my online folders so that I can move them all to another folder. When I select the source folder and the wildcard in the search box, the results are showing files in different folders. How can I limit the search to only the folder I've selected?154Views0likes5CommentsSort the stared files with tags
All the stared files can be viewed at one place, which is comfortable. What would make it even nicer: that I could sort it by tags, so I could see only the relevant files I am looking for. The same idea can be applied to all the files in dropbox storage. So, if applied, we'll have 2 parallel sorting mechanisms : folders & tags! - you can't top that.20Views0likes1CommentFolder Customization - Colors, Icons, and More
Wouldnât it be amazing if we could customize our Dropbox folders to make them more visually appealing and easier to organize? I think adding more options to personalize folders could make a big difference, and Iâd love to hear what others think about this idea! Here are a few features Iâd suggest: Folder Colors: Imagine being able to color-code your foldersâso much easier to spot what you need at a glance! Custom Icons: A simple icon, like a music note for your playlists or a book for your eBooks, could make folders feel more intuitive. This icon could be applied to the already existing folder image, or replace the folder with just an icon. Upload Your Own Images: Personalize your workspace with photos or unique images as folder coversâpractical and fun! These tweaks wouldnât just look great; theyâd make organizing and navigating files so much smoother. Plus, other platforms already offer similar options, and it would be awesome to see Dropbox join in! If you think these features would be helpful, letâs make some noise and get Dropbox to consider them. What are your thoughts? Do you have other ideas for folder customization? Letâs chat in the comments and show the Dropbox team how much weâd love this!192Views8likes5CommentsNaming conventions are sometimes buggy in subfolders.
I have a parent folder with an automation that's supposed to rename every file in its subfolders to a certain format, but it's been very buggy on if it actually works or not... I don't know if it's just bugged or if there is a solution. I'm using file requests in every child folder if that helps.181Views1like23CommentsI'm trying to move a shared folder, but it's getting copied instead.
I am trying to move shared folders, not created by me, I was told this is possible without affecting the content or other users. However when I try to move a shared folder it duplicates in the place of destination as a non-shared folder, and stays in its original place. Had anyone had this problem and found a solution?Solved45Views0likes5Comments
