Hi there, I’m hoping someone can help me out as I can’t figure out why certain photos are being saved multiple times when I upload them. I upload from my iPhone and in my most recent upload, there were 27 photos in my camera roll that I uploaded and the total that ended up in the Dropbox folder was double that….. 54. It seems to be saving every photo as a png AND a jpg….? Please help. Thank you!32Views0likes3CommentsDownload progress/status bar when using the mobile app on Android
When using the mobile app, it would be great to have a download notification/progress bar. I usually download videos which take a minute or two to download but, I am sat waiting until I see the 'Exported' notification pop up. Once I successfully upload my photos to Dropbox from my Camera Roll on my iPhone and iPad, can I delete those photos - or some of them - from my devices (to free-up space) and if I do, what happens to them? Thanks!Solved229Views0likes4CommentsMy Dropbox app stops after several minutes while uploading my photos from my iOS device.
Goodmorning, I recently started working with Dropbox again and want to upload all my pictures from my iPhone (iCloud) to my Dropbox. It’s about 125,000 photos and it’s not easy, as my app stops after several minutes. At first it started counting and now counting down as it uploads each photo/movie. But I have to open the app again; sometimes it is completely black and it has to start again and sometimes it resumes. Also the night mode stops after several minutes. I have tried if keeping my iPhone open forever works, but no. Also un-installed the app, closed my iPhone and furthermore rebooted it, re-installed the app. It started counting up again and fortunately (of course) all uploaded photos were available, but it still stops after several minutes. I am now at 72.000 and it is too time consuming. Any suggestions on what else I can do to keep the app working? Thanks!104Views0likes28CommentsCan I upload whole albums and preserve the names?
Hi! I recently switched to iPhone and was unable to transfer photos from my Android to my new phone, hence why I’m here. I need a good place to store all my photos so that they are easily accessible on all devices. I have my photos VERY organized on my Android and was wondering if I could transfer them to Dropbox and KEEP THEM IN THE ALBUMS they are currently in… It seems they are simply coming over one by one out of the albums. This is extremely frustrating. Especially because I’m dealing with iPhones idiotic idea of phone storage (you move a photo to an album and it STAYS in the camera roll!! It just becomes a copy-I don’t want it in 2 places. I need it organized and in ONE. Anyway…) Any way to do this?442Views0likes2CommentsPreserve file Creation Dates(and other metadata) in mobile app versions
The ability to preserve, view, sort by, etc the original Creation Dates(and other metadata) of files is missing or severely limited in the Dropbox mobile apps. People who don’t use Dropbox primarily for business purposes on a computer but, as many of us do these days, use our smartphones as our primary(or only) method of keeping track of media/documents/audio files/etc are having to deal with the frustrating situation of trying and failing to backup/reorganize/download to another mobile device/etc our files without losing this extremely important file metadata. I can’t even view ANY file information on non-photo files, and the photos are difficult to even upload with a title that reflects the actual creation date. If not uploaded at a painful 1 image at a time (and many times not even then) the file name will be changed to the upload date/time. The creation date is ALWAYS listed as the upload time or the last time that it was moved, downloaded, re-uploaded, etc. There’s no sort by CREATION date, only sort by Modification date which is just a complete denial of basic file management for those of us who manage all of our files on mobile phones and tablets. We desperately need full file information accessibility for Dropbox mobile apps… ESPECIALLY the ability to preserve and sort by the ORIGINAL file creation dates… and to not lose access to those creation dates when moved, renamed, downloaded, re-uploaded, etc, but to keep them intact despite all modifications. Creation dates and modification dates can be preserved separately without sacrificing one for the other, as long as the files’ metadata remains intact.5.9KViews18likes16CommentsError when uploading too many files using the mobile app on Android.
Hi I get an error that I am trying to upload too many files from my Drop Box app. I can see that I can upload a maximum of 350GB at a time, but I can not find anywhere where it says that maximum number of files that can be uploaded at a time. How many files do I need to make my folders so I can upload them? I have a few folders with a couple of thoudsands files to one with almost 12000 files. Thank you for your help and time.19Views0likes1CommentEdit Markdown files (.MD) in a web browser
Hi, Right now you can edit Markdown (.md) files from Android devices, but you can't edit them online (via a browser). Please add this feature. I'd be happy if you treated just like a .txt file with no extra formatting. I think this would be a simple task for the dev team.17Views0likes1CommentEnable emoji and special characters in file names
Hi guys, not sure if anyone else needs files with odd characters / emoji in the filename synced. Surely this could be a thing now... OneDrive allows it, Google allows it. I'm not in control of a lot of the files so "simply rename your files" isn't an option. What are the chances of this actually happening some time soon? I think i would benefit many Best2.2KViews9likes7Comments
