6 Topics'Can not upload the file' error when attaching from Dropbox to Gmail on Android
When I try to add an attachment from dropbox to a mail in gmail, I receive a message in gmail "can not upload the file". This error occurs only on one smartphone with android 12. If I do the same , with the same dropbox and google account, on an other android phone (android 11 )or an android tablet, there is no problem. Both phones have the same app version of gmailSolved46KViews5likes257CommentsGoogle/Dropbox integration changing?
Hello: A colleague of mine at another organization received this message from Dropbox: We’re writing to let you know that Google files stored in Dropbox will move to Google Drive on 7/20/2023. This change will ensure that your team can use the most up-to-date Google features and they remain organized with the rest of your Dropbox content. What’s changing? Shortcuts to your team’s Google files will be added to Dropbox so they remain accessible. This move will impact your Google storage and free up Dropbox storage. What do you need to do? Ensure your team confirms their preferences in order to move Google files to Google Drive. While I have not received that message, we are increasingly using dropbox to create google docs/sheets. Does anyone know what this change means in terms of: user experience sharing/privilege setting the mechanics of moving? Regarding the latter, it seems like they might require you to install the Google Drive App on your computer in order to create shortcuts? All in all I'm concerned that the integration might become far less useful. Thanks for any insight you might have, Alan7.6KViews0likes14CommentsNotification "Migration of Google files will begin in 5 days"
I use Google Drive and Dropbox for completely different things and very rarely move or copy a file from one to the other. When I do, it is a simple 'drag' in Windows File Explorer. I have not set up any kind of major move between them so I do not understand my having received a Notification of"Migration of Google files will begin in 5 days". Can anyone explain what it means or why I received this ? I have concerns that someone ELSE may be in the process of a wholesale move of my files, but have no idea who might be doing that. I suspect I would not receive this if it were someone with whom I've shared folders copying them to Drive (which would be dumb). Should I interpret that someone has indeed hacked my Dropbox account ?1.4KViews0likes3CommentsAdding Google Doc files to Dropbox Folder
I love this feature but it actually makes a copy of the document that is on Google Drive, which risks having people add edits in different places. Is there anyway to avoid this? Even if there was just an option to open the link to Google Docs from Dropbox. The only way to avoid this, it seems is to create the file in Dropbox itself first — rather than Google Docs.Solved5.6KViews1like6CommentsSave a chrome bookmarks directly into Dropbox folders from Chrome
Hello. I access content in two main ways: 1) I save googledoc documents in my chrome browser within bookmarked folders 2) I save files within dropbox within folders This gets problematic because there are two different locations for my content that relate to the same thing. As an example, I'll save a contract draft that I created as a gdoc in a bookmarked folder. When it is signed, I'll create a pdf and save it into Dropbox. But now two related files are in different locations. Is there a way to create a folder within the Chrome Bookmark bar that saves bookmarks directly into the dropbox folder? This way I can have all documents in the same place. Thank you.1.6KViews0likes1Comment
