I have a new laptop (MacBook Air - M4), running the latest Sequoia. I migrated everything over from my former system, which included Dropbox. Day-1, all was running fine. Day-2, I needed to change the names of the System Users. I followed the instructions from Apple, which includes changing the home folder name in "Users" and then the corresponding account name field(s) in System Settings, Users & Groups, The home folder path on Day-1, with the original name, was /Users/keri_1/ On Day-2 -- after the renaming -- the new (& current) home folder path is /Users/keri/ Now when I launch DropBox, it is looking for this path to grant permissions: /Users/keri_1/.dropbox and immediately gives the message that "Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/keri_1/.dropbox" which it cannot find since that path name no longer exists. Clicking OK, the next message I get is "Couldn't start Dropbox" and it shuts down. How do I get DropBox to correct the path it is trying to use? I have contacted Support and we have exchanged several emails, including some Terminal commands to run, which did not correct this issue.Solved22Views0likes2Comments"1 file is unable to sync" error on sync status but "See Issues" option shows nothing.
Hi everyone, I could use some help on this Dropbox pushed out an update to our user environment and it broke our integration and we are slowly starting to fix it. I have a user that has a file that will not sync. When i click the option to see what file is not syncing, it is blank. I cannot locate this file anywhere. I stopped the sync for an hour to let indexing catch up and restarted the sync. No luck We also uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox (completely removing the folders and profile from before) ran chkdsk Signed out, rebooted and signed back in verified there is no firewall or antivirus restrictions Stopped and restarted the dropbox services we are on version 199.4.62871.4KViews1like8CommentsPublic links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic.

Thank you22Views0likes5CommentsI sent a referral to one of my students, but it's once again ineligible.
Sorry to have to raise a similar issue again. As promised, I am continuing to recommend Dropbox to my students and their parents, and now sending the referrals via my Referrals page. Today I recommended Dropbox to one of my students, while he was here with his laptop, so I could see and make sure that everything was done right. He had never installed or used Dropbox before. He clicked on my referral link and successfully installed the App. He tried to verify his account, but received an error message, saying that ''Something went wrong." My Referrals page shows his status as "Ineligible." I would be grateful if you could track down what went wrong this time and let me know? I am happy to forward a capture of the emails and error message... Thank you.35Views0likes5CommentsI can no longer open my Microsoft files via my Android mobile app. They throw all sorts of errors.
Please help, I am in a HUGE panic. As of this morning, my Android Microsoft mobile apps no longer open my more than 1000 Dropbox files. I cannot save a newly created Microsoft file to Dropbox either. I have always been able to open and save my Dropbox files in the Android Microsoft apps (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel , etc) on my Pixel 8. I can no longer open files. Here's the message I get when I try to open a Dropbox file from within Microsoft Word: "Can't open file. [file name] is stored in an unsupported server location." If I try to open a file from within Dropbox, I get an error message that reads, "Can't complete task. Something went wrong. Please try again." I was initially able to open files within M365 Copilot, but I just started receiving the same message and I can't view any of my files. When I tried to connect a different Dropbox account, I received a message that said, "Access blocked: dropbox's request does not comply with Google's policies." Please note that the apps are all updated. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the apps in addition to restarting my phone. Furthermore, my Pixel device is properly linked to my Dropbox account PLEASE HELP!!85Views0likes18CommentsDropbox Stuck on "Connecting Components" Mac Desktop - Sonoma 14.6.1

Desktop Mac version of Dropbox stuck in this loop saying "Connecting Components..." and will not progress. Things I've tried: - Checking firewall. My firewall has been off and I don't turn it on, ever. - Auto Proxy is disabled. There are no proxies running. - I don't have a VPN on. - I've reinstalled Dropbox App twice. - I've rebooted after reinstall twice. - I've killed the app in Activity Monitor and rebooted as well. - I've ensured Full Disk Access to Dropbox as well as ensuring it's enabled in all other permissions. I don't understand what's going on. I've changed nothing and magically over the past couple days, Dropbox has just stopped working. Any ideas? Dear Dropbox Support Center! I have been using dropbox for a long time, it is very convenient to use when traveling. Recently, I introduced the application to my colleagues at the company, but when they installed it on their computers, they all reported that my referral was invalid and no one got an increase in free storage. There is a mistake here, I hope the support team can check it for me Thank you!61Views0likes7Comments“Your plan and billing information are managed externally"; I can't upgrade via Google Play.
I urgently need to upgrade my plan because I am out pf storage, but this "Your plan and billing information are managed externally" is the message I receive when I try to upgrade. I have found which of my google accounts my subscription is connected to in the Google play store, but there I am only able to unsubscribe or resubscribe from my existing plan. The button to "manage" my subscription there only gives me the option to change my payment method. I literally am willing to give you (Dropbox) more money in the form of upgrading so it's extremely infuriating to not be able to. I am considering switching to a different cloud storage host other than Dropbox if I cannot get this fixed before April 2nd (when my subscription supposedly renews). Please advise.31Views0likes4Comments
