I'm using Dropbox on Windows Server 2019, and recently it stopped working, saying, "Support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 has ended." They provided a link to download a "Long-Term Support" app, but after installing it, I’m still getting the same message, and it won’t launch. Has anyone else experienced this? It's frustrating, especially since I already installed the recommended LTS app. Any advice or workarounds?34Views2likes3CommentsMy Dropbox account seems to be suspended out of nowhere
Hi there, my Dropbox account appears to no longer exist out of nowhere. I was actively using the account earlier today, went to see a movie, then when I came home I was logged out of the account. Tried to log back in and could not. I thought maybe something has happened to change my password, so I tried to reset my password and when I entered my email address that's when I got a message saying "Sorry, this account is disabled." I immediately panicked as I have a lot of files stored on my Dropbox account, so I went and checked my emails to see if there's any alert of any kind and found nothing. How is it possible that Dropbox would just suspend someone's account without warning or explanation or email or anything? Can anyone please help me? I need to at least know the reason why my account was suspended because as far as I'm aware I have done nothing that's against Dropbox Terms of Service. The only unusual thing I did recently is I've been backing up a lot of files off some old hard drives, and I've been going through the process of uploading multiple gigabytes worth of files without issue for the past few days, and then today, out of nowhere, my account is now suspended. I'm really quite worried about this and really need to know what this is about for my own peace of mind. I opened this ticket: Ticket #24479410 Please, I would really appreciate some assistance with this. (I had to create a new account in order to submit this post as I am locked out of my account.4Views0likes0CommentsDropbox desktop app not working on MacOS Sonoma 14.5
my desktop app stopped working, when I click the home icon it continually says "connecting components" without ever getting there. any changes I make to files on my desktop are not visible in the online webpage or on the app on other devices. I have deleted and reinstalled the program multiple times to no avail. I am running macOS Sonoma 14.5 and the current dropbox installation is version 204.4.5420.297Views0likes2CommentsI can't access someone else's folder due to lack of space?

If I click on "Lid worden van map" I get message below................ Who knows the solution for that............Solved21Views0likes4Comments"Upgrade your browser to use Dropbox: OEM DELL APP" error when redeeming promo
I am creating a new discussion, since the original discussion which is under the same title with out the OEM DELL APP, and was not started by me, has been locked. Here is what has happened. Dell had an app which gave you 20 GB of space in your Dropbox account, when you bought a Dell computer. This app has stopped working for quite a while now. I believe that it is using either Internet Explorer, or an older browser version which can not be updated. This app was preinstalled on I believe eligible computer, but I am not sure since my computer was the first Dell computer I have seen, which had this app.14Views0likes1CommentDropbox Sync errors STILL on Windows Search folder
This is a repost of an issue I posted 7 months ago, when it first got on my nerves. "Dropbox Sync errors on Windows Search folder " The reply I got just fobbed me off, saying others haven't reported it - which may be true, but it doesn't answer the question, or address the issue. So not a good reply, was it? This post askes the same question again, clearly indicates the cause of the problem and suggests a solution. Please note the issue does not rely on any product or service other than Windows Search, the DropBox app and the Dropbox sync process. The problem occurs because Dropbox wrongly treats all data in the Dropbox tree as owned by <username>. It does not allow for folders temporarily created and owned by SYSTEM processes, such as Windows Search. Evidence I have relocated all <username> data files to a separate Data Drive D:, just as OEMs have done since Win XP. This is my Dropbox folder path and its contents (on a Win 11 box, tho' this is irrelevant) D:\Users\<username>\DropBox 'owner <username> Folder1... 'owner <username> Folder2... 'owner <username> Search 'owner SYSTEM Data 'owner SYSTEM Temp 'owner SYSTEM USGTHRSVC 'Read Permission is denied to Administrators The Dropbox System Tray window currently reports 46 Dropbox created issues... the Fix button does nothing to help, as all the error files are System files, not accessible to a normal Admin user Suggested Solution I suggest Sync should ignore any folder owned by SYSTEM, and this issue will disappear. NB It seems wrong in principle to copy SYSTEM owned files to any external system apart from a full imaging process initiated by SYSTEM. The above is 100% reproducible - assuming appropriate valid relocation of the DropBox folder Please test for yourselves and report back here. I await an update of the Dropbox app. I am using 211.4.6008 Spilly8211Views0likes1CommentI can't delete a large folder due to "1 item couldn’t be permanently deleted" error.
I get this error when trying to permanently delete a folder in my trash. I checked, as suggested in the other discussion about this, and the folder is not shared (this was the problem in the other discussion). In fact, I am the only user on my account and have zero shared folders. I believe the problem is because the large amount of files within the folder, there are 37k, but I could be wrong. I have tried to delete again, as suggested by the error message, and from a different web browser (chrome, edge, and firefox), as suggested in the other discussion, all to no avail. I can not open the deleted folder to select files to manually delete, all though even if I could then it would be too tedious due to the large number of files. In general, I would really appreciate a clear all trash button or even better, an option to completely turn trash off.Solved27Views1like3CommentsZip file can not decompress Mac OS X
Hello DB. I have now, on multiple occasions, had clients write me that when they download a folder I sent them, the resulting .zip file will provide an error when decompressed. I have myself recreated this on a Macbook Air M2 on OS X Monterey and Big Sur. The downloaded zip file has the correct size, but is corrupt. Hello. I've been working on getting my Windows 11 computer more stable. I've noticed in a log of application events there are hundreds of these DbxSvc Code 281 Category 4 errors. Just starting DropBox briefly causes several to appear in the log. What might cause this and is it something that needs fixing? My Dropbox seems to be working normally otherwise.
